8. Create a new pool or click the magnifying glass next to an existing pool to modify it.
9. The Years of Experience column is displayed in the Members report.
10. Let's add more people to this pool, based on the number of Years of Experience they have.
Click Add People.
11. To display this column, click Actions
12. Click Columns
13. Double Click Years of Experience to move this item to the right side of the shuttle.
14. Click Apply when finished.
15. The Years of Experience column is now displayed.
Let's see how we can use this information to make selections for our pool.
16. This column can be sorted ascending with the up arrow, or descending with the down arrow. For this example, we will sort it ascending.
If you want to filter for a specific number of years, click the Yrs Exp column header and make your selection.
17. This column can be filtered in more complex ways to narrow down the list of people who meet specific criteria.
For these more complex filtering options, click Actions.
18. Click Filter
19. Click Column
20. Click Years Experience
21. Click Operator
22. For this filter, we want to see people with less than or equal to a certain number of years of experience. Click the <= sign.
23. Click Expression to see the options.
24. For this example, we will choose 3. Click 3.
25. Click Apply
26. Click the number of Rows to change how many rows are displayed on the page.
27. For this example, we will choose 50. If you plan on using the "Select All" toggle, you can choose All here.
28. To Edit the Filter, click inside of it.
29. Click Operator
30. For this next example, let's filter for people who have at least a certain number of Years of Experience or more. Click the >= sign.
31. Click Expression
32. For this example, we will choose those with 5 Years of Experience or greater.
33. Click Apply
34. People with 5 years of experience or more are now displayed. Select the relevant people, click Save Selected People, then click Save Changes to save these people to your pool.
35. Let's now see how this datapoint can be used in the Assigning Workspace.
In the menu, click the arrow next to Assignor Workflow, then click Assigning Workspace.
36. On the Officials side of the page, Click the Columns icon to display the column options.
37. Check the box Years of Experience
38. Two additional columns are now available that are useful to see the Number of Assignments (Year to Date, or YTD) and Total. We will check both of these boxes to see this information along with Years of Experience.
39.
40. Click Apply Settings when finished
41. Click on a cell on the Matches side of the page to instantly update availability and other information for the officials listed on the right.
42. The total and year-to-date number of assignments and the Years of Experience for each official is displayed.
Sort year-to-date ascending to see who has not had any assignments to date for the current year.
43. You can do the same for Years of Experience.
44. We have sorted these officials so those with lower numbers of assignments to date and those with a lower number of years of experience are at the top of the list.
45. For this next example, we will add a minimum number of Years of Experience to the Self-Assign feature.
Let's use the U13/14 schedule in this Competition for our example. Click the magnifying glass next to the relevant schedule.
46. Click Self Assign
47. To adjust self-assign settings for one position at a time, click the edit icon next to that position.
48. Move the toggle to the right to allow self-assign for this position within this schedule.
49. Click Self Assign Minimum Age to set a minimum age for this position.
50. For this example, we will choose 16
51. Click Minimum Years of Experience to also add this restriction.
52. For this example, we will choose 3
53. Remember if both of these settings are used, an official will need to meet both of these criteria to see the assignment in the self-assign area of the app. You can also choose either item in isolation if you prefer.
54. Fill in other items as you wish.
55. Click Save Changes when finished.
56. The Grid Edit can also be used to complete these self-assign settings for each match role within this schedule.
57. Click Edit
58. Make edits as needed in each cell.
59. The Minimum Years of Experience column is role-specific, just as the other variables for self-assign.
60. Click Save when finished.
61. Click Cancel when finished.
62. Years of Experience has also been added to Observer Reports. Click the arrow next to Evaluation to access these reports.
63. Click Observer Reports
64. The Years of Experience column is displayed in the master report. Sort and filter on this datapoint as you wish.
65. Observers can see this datapoint for matches they are assigned to or to help find matches that have assigned officials with a certain number or range of Years of Experience.
Observers access these matches within the officials' portal.
66. Click Observer
67. To see all matches in a Competition or only the matches that I, as an observer, have been assigned to, fill in the filters and select the match. The Years of Experience for each official is displayed next to their name and assignment status.
68. Observers can also use the View All Matches feature to find matches and see both the Maximum Years of Experience within a crew, and how many Years of Experience each official has.
To access this feature, click View All Matches.
69. Bring in the relevant columns through the interactive menu using Actions and Columns.
70. Double Click Max Yrs Experience
71. Double Click Yrs Experience
72. Click Apply when finished selecting and ordering your columns. Save it as a report if you want to use these settings in the future.
73. Observers can filter and sort this report by Max Years of Experience, use their web browser's Find function for more general searches, and see if an Observer or Ref Coach has already been assigned to the match.
