Add a New Match to a Schedule manually

1. This tutorial will show you how to add a new match to a schedule.
To start, click Competitions
2. Click the magnifying glass next to the Competition you want to add the new match to.
3. Click the magnifying glass next to the Schedule you want to add the new match to.
In this example, we will add a match to the U14 schedule of the HVYSL-Travel competition.
4. Click Matches
5. Click Add Match
6. A Match Record form will open. Click on Calendar: Date to enter the date of the match.
7. Use the arrows in the Calendar to go to a different month.
8. For this example, the match we are adding will occur on April 1, 2024. Click the Date to select it.
9. Click Time to expand the dropdown.
10. Choose the time of the new match. In this example, the match will kick off at 1:00 pm (local). Click the time to select it.
11. Click Status to expand the dropdown
12. Click Scheduled to indicate this new match is in Scheduled status.
13. Click Home Team to expand the list of teams that are part of this schedule.
We will demonstrate how to add missing teams later in the tutorial.
14. Type the home team name or part of the home team name in the Search bar and Press Enter to see if the home team is already part of this schedule.
15. For this example, we will search for any teams with the word "Tigers" in it.
When you find the correct team, click on it. In this example, the home team name is Soccer Club of Middletown Tigers
16. Click Away Team and repeat the previous steps to search for a team.
17. When you find the correct team, click on it. In this example, the away team is Carmel United Fuzion.
18. Now we will add the site where the new match will be taking place. Click the down arrow next to Site to search from all sites.
19. In this example, we will search for Sites with the word "Allen" in it. Click on the Site when you find it.
In this example, the new match is at Allen Park High School - Allen Park, Michigan
20. Type in the Match Key
21. Type in the Field Number if the match will occur on a specific field within the Site.
22. Click Gender to expand the dropdown
23. Choose the gender of the match. In this example, we will choose female.
24. Type in the Match Level for this new match
25. Type in the Age Group
26. If you want to type in a note that only Admins will see but the Officials do not see, add it in the Notes (Admin) text box.
27. If you want to type in a note that the Officials will see, add it in the Notes to Officials text box.
28. Click Create Match when finished
29. Click Cancel to return to the Schedules page
30. We will now show you how to add a team that is not within the schedule.
Important: Adding a team must be done before filling out the Match Record. The first step is to do a thorough search before adding a new team to avoid creating duplicates.
31. Go to the competition and schedule as you did earlier and Click Add Match
32. After confirming the team you want to add is not in the Home Team dropdown, click Add More Teams to this Schedule.
Remember to add a team BEFORE you fill out the Match Record.
33. Type in the Team Name. Be precise as this team name will be added to the list of teams for this schedule going forward.
34. Click Gender to expand the dropdown
35. In this example, we will choose male as the gender of this team.
36. Type in the Level of this team. Be precise. It should be consistent with the level of other teams within this schedule, which are seen on the left side of the page.
37. Click Save New Team when finished
38. Repeat these steps if you need to add additional Teams to the dropdown list.
In this example, we added "Billy Boys" and "Little Rockers" as new teams to this schedule.
39. Click the Cancel button to return to the Match Record form
40. Fill out the Match Record form as previously demonstrated
41. When you get to Home Team, you will see the new team you added in the previous steps.
42. Click the name of the team. In this example, Billy Boys is the new team we added to the schedule and they are now the home team.
43. Click Away Team
44. Click the name of the team. In this example, Little Rockers is the new team we added to the schedule and they are now the Away team.
45. Continue filling out the Match Record form
46. Click Cancel when finished
47. If an error was made when filling out the Match Record form, it can be corrected.
In this example, we mistakenly listed the gender of the new match as female instead of male.
48. Click the magnifying glass next to the match that needs correcting.
49. Click Edit Match Record
50. Click Gender to expand the dropdown
51. In this example, we will correct the gender of this match to male
52. Click Save Changes
53. Note the green banner at the top right of the page confirming the Match Record has been updated.
Click Cancel when finished to return to the Match Details page.
54. Click Cancel to return to the Schedules page
55. If you want to return to the Competitions page from the Schedules page, Click Cancel again.
You can also go to other schedules within this Competition by choosing it from the dropdown on the right side of the page, under Other Schedules.
56. You can now see this U14 Schedule has two additional matches within it. If you want to see the matches within this schedule, click the number under the "Matches All" column.
57. That's it. You're done.
