39 STEPS

1. This tutorial is part of a series on using the Interactive Menu, which is available throughout the Ref Insight platform.

The interactive menu is accessed through the Actions button and lets users customize and save report displays.

2. This tutorial demonstrates how to use the Control Break item within the interactive menu.

For this example, we'll use a control break to see which licenses a person has. Click Availability.

3. Click USSF Licenses

4. Click Actions

5. Click Format, then Control Break.

6. A Control Break groups items by the Column selected.

Click Select Column to expand the dropdown list of columns.

7. The columns that are displayed in the report and other available columns not displayed are shown in the dropdown list.

For this example, we want to group USSF Licenses by Person.

Click Person.

8. Click Apply

9. The USSF Licenses report is now grouped by Person.

10. You can add multiple control breaks to view subgroups of a grouped item.

Click Actions.

11. Click Format, then Control Break.

12. Click Column 2 to expand the dropdown.

13. For this example, we will choose Discipline to group the licenses by discipline for each person.

14. Click Apply

15. For each Person, which is our first control break, the licenses are grouped by Discipline, which is our second control break.

16. To turn off a control break temporarily, uncheck the box to the left of the item.

17. To remove the control break entirely, click the X to the right of the item.

18. Control breaks can be used anywhere you see the Actions button.

For this example, we will apply it in the Assigning Workspace.

19. Click Actions

20. Click Format, then Control Break.

21. Click Column 1 to expand the dropdown list.

22. For this example, we want to group the matches displayed by Location.

Click Location.

23. Click Apply

24. Our matches are now grouped by Location.

25. To Edit a Control Break, click within the cell.

26. Let's change our Location control break to something else.

27. For this example, we have matches for multiple Competitions displayed in our workspace.

Let's set a control break on Competition instead, to group our matches by Competition.

28. Click Apply

29. Our matches are now grouped by Competition.

30. We can add filters on top of a control break.

For this example, we only want to focus on matches that are not ready -- that is, matches that do not have all crew members in accepted status.

Click the Match Ready column header.

31. Click No

32. Our matches are now grouped by Competition through the control break, and only displaying matches that are not match ready through the filter for Match Ready.

33. If these settings are something you will use often, you can save them as a private Report.

To save a report, click Actions.

34. Click Report, then Save Report.

35. Name your report, then click Apply.

36. Your saved report is displayed here.

37. It is also displayed here as part of a dropdown list.

Click the report name to see the list of private reports you've previously saved.

38. You can switch back to the default report, called Primary Report, or select any of your saved reports from the list.

39. Thank you for watching the tutorial on using Control Breaks in the Interactive menu.
