1. This tutorial shows how to set a filter to exclude Ref Coach roles when releasing tentative assignments. It also shows how to save this filter as a report for convenient access later.
2. We have made some on-field and Referee Coach assignments in a Demo Competition.
U.S. Soccer is allowing National Assignors to make tentative Referee Coach assignments in certain competitions for in-state tracking.
3. We will demonstrate how to prevent Referee Coach assignments in tentative status from getting accidentally released along with other match roles.
Click the Release Assignments icon when ready to release your other assignments.
4. This page shows assignments that are ready to be released. They are all in tentative status and have no rule violations.
5. The Role column displays what the role is for each assignment.
6. To prevent the accidental release of Referee Coach assignments, we'll set a filter to exclude them.
Click Actions
7. Click Filter
8. Click Column
9. Click Role
10. Click Operator
11. Click does not contain
12. Click Expression
13. Type "Coach" in Expression to capture any role with the word "Coach" in it.
14. Click Apply
15. We now have a filter that excludes any role containing the word "Coach" in it.
16. We will now save this filter setting as a private report that can be accessed at any time.
Click Actions.
17. Click Report
18. Click Save Report
19. Name your Report to remind you what it does.
20. Type a Description as well if you wish.
21. Click Apply
22. The Saved Report is displayed with the blue ribbon, and the filter we set for this report is also displayed.
23. Your Saved Reports are shown here.
24. Access the Primary (default) report, or other saved reports, by clicking on this cell to expand the dropdown.
25. Select the assignments you want to release by clicking the checkbox next to the assignment, or click the top checkbox to select all.
You can also set additional filters if you want to limit which assignments are released at any given time.
26. Click Release Selected Assignments after making your selections. For this example, we decided to release assignments only for the Referee role.
27. Click Release Selected Assignments again to confirm.
