66 STEPS

1. This tutorial demonstrates how to Create and Edit Assigning Templates.

Assigning Templates replace the previous History section and allows assignors to save Match and Officials settings from the gear and column areas.

Step 1 image

2. From the home page, click on the arrow next to Assignor Workflow to expand the dropdown.

Step 2 image

3. Click Assigning Workspace

Step 3 image

4. Collapse the menu by clicking on the x at the top left of the page. Collapsing the menu will provide a wider view of the workspace.

Step 4 image

5. Let's set up our workspace in preparation for creating our first template. Click the gear icon to choose the Competition and/or specific Schedules within a Competition.

Step 5 image

6. For this example, we will choose the Lakeville Fall Cup by moving it to the right side of the shuttle. Selecting a Competition includes all the Schedules within that Competition. Several Competitions or specific Schedules can also be chosen.

Step 6 image

7. Select the Roles and click Apply Changes when finished.

Step 7 image

8. Click the Column icon to choose different columns.

Step 8 image

9. For this example, we will add Competition as a column.

Step 9 image

10. Let's add the Match Ready column as well. When Match Ready says "Yes", it indicates all mandatory roles have been assigned and accepted.

Step 10 image

11. Let's remove the City column because that information is not relevant for this Competition.

Step 11 image

12. Click Apply Changes when finished.

Step 12 image

13. On the Officials side of the page, click the Columns icon to select different columns.

Step 13 image

14. For this example, we want to know Distance from Home, which is the distance of the site of a specific match from the home address of the official entered into their profile.

Step 14 image

15. Click Apply Settings when finished selecting your columns.

Step 15 image

16. Now that we have our settings how we want them, click Create New Template from Current Settings at the bottom of the page.

Step 16 image

17. Type the name of your template in the Template Name field and add a description if you wish.

Step 17 image

18. Click Save Template when finished.

Step 18 image

19. Let's create another template for a different Competition. Click the gear icon to open Match Settings.

Step 19 image

20. Double Click Lakeville Fall Cup to move it to the left side of the shuttle, which deselects it.

Step 20 image

21. Double Click Lakeville Fathers Day Cup to select that Competition instead. Remember that selecting a Competition automatically selects all the Schedules within it.

Step 21 image

22. Click Apply Changes when finished.

Step 22 image

23. Let's adjust the columns we want for this template by clicking the Column icon.

Step 23 image

24. For now, we will remove the Match Ready column.

Step 24 image

25. On the Officials side of the page, click the gear icon to choose your settings.

Step 25 image

26. Change your Pool if needed. Use the toggles to turn options on or off. For this example, we will remove officials from our list who are blocked out of all the matches listed on the left side of the page.

Step 26 image

27. Click Apply Settings when finished.

Step 27 image

28. Click the Columns icon to select different columns.

Step 28 image

29. For this template, we want to know the Distance between Same Day Assignments (Distance SDA). This option will show the distance between the two sites when officials have other assignments on the same day as the match being assigned.

Step 29 image

30. Click Apply Settings when finished.

Step 30 image

31. Click Create New Template from Current Settings to save these settings as a new template.

Step 31 image

32. Type the name of this new template.

Step 32 image

33. Type a description if that helps you remember the purpose of your settings.

Step 33 image

34. Click Save Template when finished.

Step 34 image

35. Now that we have created a couple of templates, we can go to other areas of the site and easily return to the templates we created. Expand the menu by clicking the Main Navigation icon.

Step 35 image

36. For this example, we will navigate over to Competitions and leave the Assigning Workspace momentarily.

Step 36 image

37. When you are ready to return to the Assigning Workspace, navigate back to that area. Click on Assignor Workflow.

Step 37 image

38. Click Assigning Workspace.

Step 38 image

39. To access the templates we previously created, click Templates.

Step 39 image

40. A summary of each template created is displayed. Recall that Match side and Official side settings and columns are included. To view more details about these template settings, click the magnifying glass next to the template.

Step 40 image

41. You can perform various actions from here, such as Load Selected Template, Delete the template, or Rename the template using the buttons at the top right of the page.

Step 41 image

42. Click Cancel to return to the Assigning Workspace.

Step 42 image

43. Click Templates to display existing templates.

Step 43 image

44. To select a template, select it using the radio button.

Step 44 image

45. Click Load Selected Template

Step 45 image

46. Confirm by clicking Load Selected Template.

Step 46 image

47. Let's now look at how to edit or update a template. For this example, we see that the Field Number column is not needed on the Matches side of the page. Click the Column icon.

Step 47 image

48. Uncheck Field Number.

Step 48 image

49. Select or deselect any other columns you want to adjust and click Apply Changes when finished.

Step 49 image

50. To update our template with these new settings, click Replace a Template with Current Settings.

Step 50 image

51. Click the radio button next to the template you want to replace with these current settings. For this example, we want to replace the Lakeville Fall Cup template.

Step 51 image

52. Click Replace Template.

Step 52 image

53. Confirm by clicking Replace Template again.

Step 53 image

54. You can also load or switch templates at the bottom of the page. Click Load an Existing Template to display the dropdown of templates you created.

Step 54 image

55. For this example, we will switch to the Lakeville Fathers Day Cup template, which happens to have the same name as our Competition, and is specified in brackets next to the template name.

Step 55 image

56. Click Load Template

Step 56 image

57. Click Load Template again to confirm.

Step 57 image

58. Note that templates will not save the items adjusted through the Actions menu, such as column orders, filters, or control breaks. However, we can Save a Report to preserve these items. Let's look at how to do that next.

Step 58 image

59. For this example, we want to set a filter on the Match Ready column to only display matches that need attention by the assignor.

Step 59 image

60. Since we are setting a simple filter, we can click the column header Match Ready to display the options. You can accomplish the same thing -- or set more complex filters -- using Actions/Filter.

Step 60 image

61. To display only those matches that are not ready, click "No". Recall that when all mandatory roles have been assigned and accepted, Match Ready will show as Yes.

Step 61 image

62. Note our filter is now shown above the report. To save report settings, click Actions.

Step 62 image

63. Click Report, then Save Report.

Step 63 image

64. Name your report so you can easily find it later.

Step 64 image

65. Type in a Description if you wish and Click Apply.

Step 65 image

65b. Click

Step 65b image

66. Uncheck the filter if you wish to turn it off temporarily.
